Diocesan Priests

The Lord has recently inspired me to pray quite fervently for diocesan priests. This is a job for all of the faithful, and especially for all religious. I am curious to know if anyone has information on orders which may have a particular charism to pray for diocesan priests directly and by name. Feel free to comment with any information you may have or idea on where I can search for this information.

Thank you in advance.

God bless!

Hi Joanna,

You probably already know this, but Carmelite nuns pray for the diocesan priesthood as one of their principal intentions. The Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles are a new community who also exist to pray for diocesan priests. Second Order Dominican nuns pray for Dominican friars, but the Dominican nuns of Corpus Christi monastery in the Bronx, NY have the New York Presbyterate as a special intention.

Also, I’m twenty-three and just became a consecrated virgin, which is different from joining a religious community. However, a main part of my vocation is praying for the needs of my archdiocese, which certainly includes the diocesan clergy. (Just a few days ago, the Vocation Office even sent me a list of seminarians to pray for!)
